The Cyberknife Centre London has finally started treating patients. The clinic is located at The Harley Street Clinic on Harley Street London. The Cyberknife Centre belongs to the private hospital group, HCA.
The centre currently treats suitably referred patients in the following areas:
- Lung cancer
- Pancreatic cancer
- Liver cancer
- Head & Neck cancer
- Prostate cancer
- Sarcoma
- Brain tumours
- Spinal tumours
As the clinic is part of a private hospital group it accepts payment from health insurer’s or by private funding. The clinic is also happy to receive NHS patients, of which, you will need to discuss funding of the treatment with your Primary Care Trust.
To access Cyberknife treatment at the clinic, you will need to be referred to one of the centre’s Consultant team through either your Consultant or GP. For further information or advice you can contact the clinic on telephone 020 7034 8588. Their website address is www.cyberknifecentrelondon.co.uk
Alan and I visited the clinic recently. They have already started treating patients and several people have already completed their Cyberknife treatment. We were fortunate enough to part of a TV interview that was being undertaken by ITN news. To view the interview, click on the following link.
Having never visited Harley Street before, on arriving at the centre you would never have thought you were entering a hospital. I felt like we were entering someone’s Victorian townhouse! The Cyberknife Centre is located in the basement of the building. Due to the huge doses of radiation flying about whilst the Cyberknife machine is in operation, over 400 tonnes of lead has been used to line the walls, ceiling and door!

It’s as easy as that!
